Flow’s Hidden Gems (6.8-6.14) - A Prompt Review
Welcome back to Flow's Hidden Gems! (no i didnt change the title slightly)
I'm your host, Kunari, and today, I'll be reviewing another 7 hand-picked prompts from our lovely creators!
The first prompt on our roster today is 'Mazi-Mouseboy', written by Alonzo Tiger!
Listen. I'm an absolute sucker for Kemonomimi (Kemonomimi are humans with animal-like traits, for those who didn't know). Throw a Kemonomimi into a room with me and they will walk out after having enough headpats to last a lifetime.
But letting me roleplay as a Nekomimi?
Oh boy.
Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with this one!
Mazi is a mouse Kemonomimi who has gotten into the house of you and your Master. So, as the household cat, you've been tasked with disposing of the poor thing. But will you actually try to get rid of him, or show him a bit of mercy? And if you do, how are you going to hide it from your Master?
Next up is 'Eleanor - Your anti-social classmate' written by I hate breakfast!
So, I was using this prompt, trying to steer it into a little more of a light-hearted tone, only for it to drop an absolute bombshell of angst on me.
I'll leave it up to you to try out the prompt and find out for yourself, but oh god, I shut up REAL quick. Aside from that, Eleanor is a sweet girl - she's fun to talk to, and navigating her personality and reputation is a fun part of befriending her!
Third on our list today is 'Sayori', written by Taylin!
I'll be honest, I don't use canon character prompts very often. For those of you who don't know, 'canon' characters are those from existing media franchises - they can be from games, movies, anime, anything like that. But I have such a soft spot for Sayori that I couldn't pass this one up.
I was pleasantly surprised by the detailed welcome message (I've always liked prompts that take the time to do a bit of worldbuilding in their introductions), and not only that, but Sayori actually acted like... well, Sayori! (Needless to say, my expectations for canon character prompts are extremely low)
Anyway, she's sweet, bubbly, and always thinking of the best for you. What more could you want from someone?
Our next prompt is 'Tiny Demon', written by Tiny Demon & Co!
So, hear me out. I see weird shape with soulless black eyes and ':D' as an expression, I click.
I said one word to this character, and they immediately offered to commit arson (for comedic purposes). It really doesn't get any better than this.
Honestly, the premise of a 'Tiny Demon' that just wants to commit crimes shouldn't be all that shocking - it's simple, but effective, and while the welcome message doesn't give you much to work with, that just means you can take this ball of illegal activity anywhere you like!
Next is a bit of a unique one in terms of image generators: 'Midjourney Prompt Creator XL', written by Johimja!
Unlike most other image generators (and what you'd expect from one), this prompt doesn't generate the images for you. Instead, it generates discord commands with a prompt and style for you to use with the Midjourney bot.
While I don't have access to Midjourney myself, the FlowGPT Discord server does have a bot that can generate images - with the same /imagine command, too!
I simply copy and pasted the generated prompt, and it actually came up with something good, despite the difference between the MEE6 and Midjourney's difference in image models.
The next prompt we'll be going over is 'Dream Interpreter', written by Sanjiban dey!
There's not much to say about it apart from 'it is what it claims to be', but I found myself intrigued by the concept. I've never been the type to hyper-analyse my dreams in an effort to find some deeper meaning or subconscious truth, but the insight about an otherwise insignificant scenario has me paying attention, to say the least. I love the amount of detail this prompt provides - it encompasses several possibilities as to the meaning of such a simple description, but each of them are equally plausible.
Of course, you should never believe an AI if it claims to be a therapist - it's just telling you what it thinks you'll believe, after all. But aside from that detail, I'd recommend trying this prompt out if you need a little introspective - just remember to take it with a grain of salt!
Last on our list for today is 'Escape the Government', written by SADNESS.INC!
Styled as a traditional CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure), 'Escape the Government' gives you a scenario, and three choices for how to proceed through that scenario. Despite its simplistic design, it accomplishes its job well with how engaging both the premise and execution are.
The best part is that it's not actually a CYOA, so you don't need to be restricted by the options or descriptions you've been given!
For those of you who made it this far, thank you for reading! It can be difficult to find fun, high-quality prompts that aren't as popular - it's why they're called 'Hidden Gems', after all!
So, we've decided to open up a form where you can suggest some for us! If there's a well-written prompt out there that you don't think is getting enough recognition, you can submit it to us with a note about why you think we should feature it, and we'll evaluate the prompt and give it a chance in the spotlight!
Whether it's yours or someone else's, help us bring some light to well-written yet under-utilised prompts!
Thank you for reading!
